2021-Corvette Raceway transforming playset

This transforming playset is designed to look like a red Chevrolet Corvette C8.R when closed. The wheels roll freely, and the details are well executed, although it is not intended to be a true scale model. Inside the package, along with the instruction manual, are two sticker sheets. One features metallic-effect decals for the exterior of the car. I chose not to apply them because I think the car looks more realistic without them. The other sheet contains all the decals to be applied inside the playset. A separate bag contains all the plastic accessories that need to be assembled once the playset is opened, including flags, the starting light, and the ramps. Opening the car is simple and cleverly engineered, with hidden release buttons, even integrated into the side mirrors. Assembling all the accessories and ramps, however, takes some time and patience. The playset features several play areas (15 in total), perhaps too many to fit comfortably into such a limited space. As a result, almost all of them feel out of proportion. For example, the small drifting circuit is so tight that a Micro Machines car cannot even make the turns, while the ramps are excessively steep and impractical. Other design choices also reduce the playability. For instance, the drag strip starting light is positioned between the two lanes and is so large that it gets hit by cars launched with the spring-powered launcher. This version of the playset, sold in an open-front box with a single included vehicle, enjoyed reasonably good sales. However, that popularity does not seem to have lasted, as large numbers of these playsets can now be found on the second-hand market at very low prices.
