Coach Type 2 – Power Sound
This type of American passenger car is a bi-level coach, also known as a double-decker passenger car. Designed to maximize passenger capacity, it features two seating levels connected by an internal staircase. Large windows on both decks provide excellent views, making these cars especially popular on commuter and intercity routes. Bi-level coaches have been widely used by several American railroads since the mid-20th century, offering a practical combination of increased seating capacity and passenger comfort. The car contains a small speaker powered by button batteries, capable of simulating train sounds. A small button on the roof could also be pressed to activate the locomotive whistle.
