GP-40 Diesel Locomotive

The GP40 Diesel Locomotive is a four-axle diesel-electric locomotive developed by Electro-Motive Division (EMD) in the 1960s. Designed for both freight and passenger service, it was powered by a 3,000-horsepower diesel engine and became one of the most widely used locomotives on North American railroads. Its distinctive long hood and boxy profile made the GP40 a recognizable sight on American railways. Like all the other Micro Machines locomotives, this model has a small plastic hook underneath that can be released. It is used to connect and pull the locomotive along the Power Train City playset.
