Private Eyes

Private Eyes are Micro Machines that have a transparent window on the underside of the chassis and a lens on the roof. By pointing the Micro Machine towards a light source, it is possible to look inside the vehicle, where different scenes can be seen.

The Micro Machines Private Eyes were a very popular series, released in both 1990 and 1991, with the same models used for both years. The only difference was in the packaging, with the 1991 sets being rarer to find, as they were produced in smaller quantities than the previous year. On this website they will be categorized under both years, using the 1990 packaging image for both years. A total of 12 collections were released, each featuring three vehicles, for a total of 36 vehicles across 12 different vehicle types.

In the table below, I have catalogued which interior scene is found inside each vehicle. Obviously, the table refers to the vehicles in my own collection, and I cannot rule out the possibility that, in some cases, the association between the scene and the vehicle is random. Some combinations are definitely fixed and correct, such as those found in police cars, but it can happen that the interior scene of a van is found inside a car.
