Jetstream 31

The Jetstream 31 is a small, twin-turboprop commuter aircraft that was built in the 1980s and ’90s. Designed for short regional hops, it seats around 19 passengers and was meant to replace older, noisier planes on feeder routes. Its performance was modest: cruising speeds around 450 km/h (280 mph) and service ceilings near 25,000 ft. The Jetstream’s cabin was tight and plain—functional, not comfortable—and maintenance demands were higher than some rivals, which limited its long-term appeal. Although it served many regional airlines around the world, it never became a standout success, and today it’s largely retired from mainstream service, remembered mainly by enthusiasts and in smaller utility roles.
