’42 Roadmaster

The 1942 Buick Roadmaster represented the peak of Buick’s pre-war lineup. Large, imposing, and refined, it carried the brand’s signature “waterfall” grille and sweeping fenders that defined early 1940s American styling. Under the hood was Buick’s smooth and powerful straight-eight engine, delivering strong performance for such a substantial car. Inside, the Roadmaster offered generous space and upscale trim, aimed at buyers who wanted comfort without stepping into Cadillac territory. Production was cut short by World War II, making 1942 models especially significant as some of the last civilian cars built before wartime manufacturing took over.
