The Ford Mustang SVO of the 1980s was a sharp break from the muscle-car norms of its era. Instead of relying on a big V8, it featured a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that delivered strong performance with a more refined, European-influenced driving feel. Its distinct styling cues included the offset hood scoop, functional aero pieces, and a unique dual-plane rear spoiler. Inside, the SVO offered firmer sport seats, better materials, and a more driver-focused layout. It stood out as a precise, agile variant of the Mustang—lighter on brute force, heavier on engineering and handling. Well-made model with a large rear hatch. Curiously, this model was never released in the standard version—only in the Deluxe one.
