Lunar Module

The Apollo Lunar Module was the spacecraft designed to land astronauts on the surface of the Moon during NASA’s Apollo missions. Built by Grumman, it was the first crewed vehicle made exclusively for operation in space, since it was never intended to fly through Earth’s atmosphere. The Lunar Module consisted of two separate stages: a descent stage used for landing, and an ascent stage that carried the astronauts back into lunar orbit to rendezvous with the command module. Between 1969 and 1972, six Lunar Modules successfully landed humans on the Moon, making it one of the most iconic spacecraft ever created. It is curious that this model is included in a Deluxe collection, since it does not feature any movable or opening parts.
