’20s Woody

The Ford Woody wagon of the 1920s was one of the earliest forms of the station wagon, built on the rugged Model T chassis. Its body was largely made of wood, not for style but for practicality: it was cheaper and easier to build than steel at the time. Originally intended for utility work—transporting goods, tools, or passengers in rural areas—it quickly proved versatile and reliable.
